Tim Searcy Ministries
Dr. Tim Searcy’s life and career are a testament to a deep commitment to faith, education, and global service. With over four decades of ministry and leadership, he has dedicated himself to empowering others, both in the church and in higher education, while navigating some of life’s most challenging circumstances with unwavering resilience.
Dr. Searcy’s journey began in Oneida, Kentucky, where he attended the Oneida Baptist Institute. His academic path has been marked by a series of distinguished achievements, including a Ph.D. and Ed.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as degrees from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and Lincoln Memorial University. Fluent in Spanish, he also earned a diploma in Spanish Language Studies from El Instituto del Lengua Española in Costa Rica, equipping him to connect and serve across cultures.
With a ministry career spanning more than 40 years, Dr. Searcy has served as a youth minister, pastor, missionary, and church planter. His international work has taken him to Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Russia, Nepal, and beyond. In Colombia, he established Vida Nueva Baptist Church and faced harrowing challenges, including surviving a hostage situation with a drug cartel. His steadfast faith and leadership shone during Hurricane Katrina, where he guided an institution through the crisis, exemplifying his ability to overcome adversity.
In addition to his ministry, Dr. Searcy has made a profound impact in higher education. He has held roles such as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Brewton Parker College, Vice President of Academics at Louisiana Christian University, and Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. As a professor and administrator, he has shaped countless lives, championing the next generation of leaders.
A lifelong servant within the Southern Baptist Convention, Dr. Searcy has held roles as President and Parliamentarian of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, as well as trustee positions for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Oneida Baptist Institute. His denominational work reflects his deep-rooted passion for advancing faith-based education and community-building initiatives.
At the heart of Dr. Searcy’s story is his family. Married for 49 years to Brenda, a gifted church musician and graduate of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, the couple has raised two sons who continue the family’s legacy of service and leadership. Together, they share a commitment to faith, resilience, and making a positive impact on the world.
